What is the history of Medwell Capital?
Medwell Capital was formally named BioMS Medical Corp. ("BioMS"). BioMS was a biotechnology company focused on advancing dirucotide, a product for multiple sclerosis. BioMS raised over $180 million for the project and partnered the drug with Eli Lilly and Company in 2007. In 2010, the Company decided to implement a new corporate strategy and identity – the new name Medwell Capital Corp. was approved by shareholders on June 25, 2010. Today, Medwell Capital is a service provider in the healthcare industry.
What is the current status of dirucotide?
The Company has completed its substantive review of the data from the discontinued late-stage trials for dirucotide, its drug candidate for the treatment of multiple sclerosis (MS). It has been decided that it will explore a compassionate access and research program with limited financial commitment, but that it will not pursue further late stage clinical trials with dirucotide in MS.
